The Flight From Conversation
(Reaction Paper)
Based from the article by Sherry Turkle entitled "The flight from conversation" I totally agree to her article because it contains the reality which most of the people does nowadays.
Nowadays that we live in a modern and technology-oriented era, , we spend most of our time by using phones, computers, different kinds of gadgets and many others than to have a physical interaction in our day-to-day living. And the question is, Which is more useful in terms of communication the high tech gadgets or communicating personally?
Technology is  helpful but in some ways are not, there is boon and bane, just for example of boon of the technology is to asked our work easier, also to spread information or messages from one another and according to Sherry Turkle "This means we can edit. And of we wish to, we can delete. Or retouch: the voice, the flesh, the face, the body. Not too much, not too little just right." but in a negative way when we meet our virtual friend we have the expectation of their attitude and appearance based from his/her posted text, pictures or videos and when we saw him/her personally then we can totally vary him/her from the  reality.
It is good to have a conversation to one another particularly when we are bored or lonely. We can interact, communicate , get friends and also can get information. Suddenly, most us deliver fake or not reliable  messages, may destroy or ruin others life like posting personal issue that can affect his/her feelings. There are also messages can be misinterpret that cause the readers difficult to understand. When we have a conversation from others we must " think first before we click " if it is good or can't affect to them. Some people also forget of the proper etiquette when they are interacting with others.
Technology influenced people through upgraded system and applications. There are lots of manifestations on how technology influence people such as spending the whole time using the cellphone. And to avoid this kind of addiction we need to control and educate ourselves on how to utilize and use technology in our daily living. That is why we must always inform ourselves that we must not allow technology dictate and control our own personal life.
